The Corpus Christi Trade Center is the largest indoor market in South Texas with over 100,000 square feet of shopping. The trade center is also popular for having a bar and being able to openly drink as you walk around the stores.

The Corpus Christi Trade Center is in need of a brand that is welcoming and will attract customers and unify the market as a whole. An identity system that includes elements such as wayfinding, ads, and shopping bags will help the Trade Center attract more business and customers.

The graphic elements in the logo are visually inspired from Mexican papel picados, which is made from cutting paper into beautiful and elaborate designs.

The color palette is bright and colorful alluding to Mexican and South Texas culture. Known as the Sparkling City by the Sea, the city of Corpus Christi is visually driven by many blues and greens.

wayfinding

Throughout the Trade Center the primary way-finding tool utilized is a “street sign” on top of all of the intersections. Their previous signs were easily missed and not consistent in typography.
A new system with a consistent style and typography that comes from the new brand will keep way-finding easy when navigating through the Trade Center.

With hundreds of stores to shop from, a shopping bag to hold everything together should almost be a necessity. The new bags will be reusable and its simple design treatment can be used for many other things.
